5-Layer Architectural Reading Diagram
Train student to read one small space through architectural layers instead of judging appearance.

Create one 5-layer reading diagram for one small space.
- 01
Choose one small space, for example desk corner, classroom corner, hallway, entrance zone, bus stop, café corner, bedroom corner or courtyard corner.

Start with one photo, quick sketch or simple plan-like drawing of the space.

Add the first layer: User. Write who uses the space in a specific way, not “people in general”.

Add the second layer: Function. Write what happens there, for example sit, wait, study, pass through, read, charge phone.

Add the third layer: Movement. Draw at least one main movement arrow showing how a person enters, passes, stops or leaves.

Add the fourth layer: Context. Mark what affects the space, for example noise, light, access, view, temperature, surrounding zones or entrance nearby.

Add the fifth layer: Problem to decision. Circle one conflict point, write one short design problem, then write one possible design decision.

Add one trade-off note. Say what improves and what becomes more limited.
